THE STORY OF MANKIND

Level II will empower you to connect with your Cajon for greater expression. Through in-class supervision and group synergistic exercises, you will move from merely beating the Cajon to developing sensitivity during the highs and lows of song dynamics. You will also harness a good feel for various intensities of music and approach each song with detailed planning to create good rhythm balance for various songs.

The running theme THE STORY OF MANKIND takes us through the history of world civilizations. The weekly themes will offer deeper insight into the ideologies behind different major world cultures and to make sense of our own today.

Theme: THE STORY OF MANKIND: Civilizations is a survey of major world cultures and their contribution to humanity. Broaden your worldview as you appreciate the beauty of cultural diversity.

Rhythm: Syncopated rhythms with fills

Posture: Controlled instrument and handling techniques

Synergistic Flow: Touch dynamics and rhythm flow

Song Application: Accompanied play with backing tracks

Duration: 7-week course; 1-hour weekly lessons
