This grade introduces you to advanced music theory fundamentals that will enhance your understanding of music like never before. Be equipped for an optional Trinity Grade 6 exam with additional clinic sessions to prepare you for certification.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
✔️ How to apply understanding of form, instrumentation, texture and orchestration
✔️ How to write transposing parts and idiomatically based on range and characteristics of instruments
✔️ Understand and identify methods of modulation by composers
✔️ Identify chromatic chords and secondary sevenths
✔️ Recognize and write original diatonic, non-diatonic melody, 12-bar blues progression and piano accompaniment

Music Theory: Apply modulation techniques and theoretical concepts in analysis of Baroque style

Scales: Familiarize with various drills and form within related periods of study

Notation: Demonstrate the writing of conventional music notation in a creative way

Duration: 21-week module; 1 hour weekly
